Jean-Yves Jung, Parisian organist is among many other projects a long-time member of Gipsy guitar great Birelli Lagrene's quartet. Jean-Yves and Belgium's most international guitarist Jeanfrançois Prins met in Berlin where they performed together in 2014 at the EUNIC Jazz Festival. For their second performance together at the Music Village, they decided to pay an energetic and inventive tribute to two masters of Hardbop, this jazz style from the 60's, full of Blues and Soul: Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery. With the amazing Bruno Castellucci on drums, they will share a repertoire full of groove, swinging melodies, and where virtuosity never overshadows their sense of humor, lyricism and interaction.

Ghent based pianist Yves Vermeire invites his own rising band ECLECTIV. This new project consists of a unique collaboration of a dynamic rhythm section and 3 powerful horns. This time they will play a balanced mix of jazz standards and some original compositions in their own unique way. One of the oldest and most appreciated New Orleans’ band in Belgium since 1962.They have won numerous international contests (Le Have, Mégève, St-Raphaël,…) and were the “Honour Guests” at the Festival de Jazz Traditionnel de Nice. A welcomed new visit to the Village, straight from New Orleans….
