Jazz values, European values
Jazz is non-conformist music, far from hit parades and “charts”, music of creators and visionaries. It is based on the same fundamental principles as the European Union itself: a world vision of fraternity, freedom, creativity and perpetual development. More particularly for the new member states from the East it was, and still is, an energising breath of liberty.

Six bands, seven concerts: to offer everybody the opportunity to capture the jazz moments and horizons of his choice, in different surroundings going from the large PATHE PALACE concert hall to the Music Village classic jazz club.

Michel Hatzigeorgiou (bass)
Stéphane Galland (drums)

21.00 Pathé Palace – Hall 1

THE Belgian jazz band of international reputation, always inventive and open for different music genres. Aka Moon juggles with polyphony and polyrhythm.
Like crazy Dj’s, they glide from one expression to another, discovering new harmonies and rhythm lines, just like the soul they came across in the African forests and the infinite beauty of Indian music, discerning subtle references to our own culture. Their music stands for diversity and keeps the door open for any present-day style: jazz, rock and also techno or jungle… All you have to do is open your mind and ears… music will do the rest.
