FRIDAY 30

Pianist and composer Emil Ibrahim Mammadov belongs to the contemporary generation of Azeri Jazz musicians. His ability to find fusion, in the best sense of the word, of Jazz, Classical, Latin, Folk Music reveals Emil Ibrahim’s remarkable talents, as well as his intelligent and fearless challenge to experiments. Lady singer Sevda’s voice is strong and thick, with special guttural notes; her style of singing embraces soul music and jazz, new wave, and even African griots.
One of the most interesting concerts of our 2006 season,
back for one night.
